Hello this is my first blog here so I thought to start with simple things like khichdi. Every day when i get up in the morning first the question arose to my mind is what to cook. As today is a weekend my Hubby is home so I thought to prepare some Khichdi for him as he loves it very much.. We all love to eat khichdi as it is a simple recipe we love to eat it on weekends or in breakfast usually it tastes good with Khageena, Chutneys, Imli ka khatta and kheema..

Ingredients

  1. Plain Rice or Basmati Rice - 2 cups
  2. Onions Finely Chopped     - 1
  3. Salt   - According to taste
  4. Haldi                                 - 1/2 tsp
  5. Adrak Laisan                  -1/2 tsp
  6. Cardamom                     -  4
  7. Clove                             -4
  8. Masoor dal                    -1 cup
  9. Oil                                 - 4 tsp
  10.  Cinnamon                    -3 sticks

Method:

  • Take a non stick utensil Heat Oil in it when Oil is heated put those Chopped onions and stir them till the onion is light brown
  •  Then put Adrak laisan, Salt, Haldi in it and stir it Then put 4 Glass of water (for 2 Glass of Rice) and put masoor dal then put Cinnamon sticks, Cardamom and Cloves
  • Cover the utensil with lid and leave it on high flame
  • After some time you can notice the water boil in the utensil
  • Then simmer and cook until the rice absorbs the water completely turn off the stove and ur khichdi is done…
  • Serve  hot with Ghee and above suggested things…….
